In 1987 six women living in the St. Margaret's Bay area had an idea. Their idea was a toy library, a place where families could come together to share resources in a relaxed and informal setting.
Thanks to the efforts of these women and others who joined them during the next year, the St. Margaret's Bay Toy Library was formed. It is a place where children learn to play together, to share and cooperate. For parents, it is a place to discuss problems, share ideas on childrearing, and enjoy an hour or two of coffee and conversation.
