Old Business
- Donations
- A plaque acknowledging the donation of the fold'n'lock
shelving unit by Monica Langlois should be purchased and
mounted. Members may wish to donate books/games/puzzles/videos to
put on the shelves. The garden next to the Toy Library entrance has
been landscaped and new shrubs were donated, also in Monica's
memory. - Jane, Diane
- Supporters of SMBTL
- It was recommended that members acknowledge and support the businesses that contribute to and support the Toy Library. These businesses include: Boutiliers Lawn and Garden, Mason's Auto Works, Recardo's Tantallon, Fredie's Fantastic Fishhouse, White Sales Bakery, Performance Edge,
Redmond's Pro-Hardware, Jumbo Video,
Irving Mainway, Robin's Donuts (ESSO) and Manufactuer of Plastic Gloss -available
at Redmond's Pro-Hardware.
New Business
- Maintenance
- B&C Grocery will be given a $25 Irving gift certificate for holding the key. - Jane
- Publicity
- An advertisement for the September Open House will be put in the Masthead and the Chester Clipper. Signs will be placed at the Fire Hall and/or at the Irving (as well as in front of the Toy Library.) - Jane
- Information packages
- An updated information and registration package will be made available to new members on the first day of the new Toy Library season (slated for September 13/06). - Petra
- Fundraising
- The two initiatives this year (the Citrus Sale and the Flea Market) were a success. However, there was a consensus that more involvement is needed. Jane is willing to assist in this effort, but requests assistance and active participation!
It was also recommended that the Citrus Sale be done only once (in the spring when
the quality of the fruit is at its best.) - Members
- Inventory
- The annual Toy Library Inventory will take place on Wednesday June 28/06 from 6:00p.m. onward. All members are prevailed upon to participate in this essential evening of scouring and stock-taking. A contribution to the wine and cheese table is also encouraged (in an attempt to add levity to the soiree). - Members
- Picnic
- A family picnic is scheduled for noon on July 02/06 at Graves Island Provincial Park. (Detailed information to be provided by Diane via email.) - Members
- Graduating Members
- Certificates will be given to the graduating members of our Toy Library Family on the last day of play (Wednesday, June 28/06). - Diane
- Appointment of New Officers for 2006-7
- Diane has reoffered to serve as Co-Chair and Derek will be asked if he would like to adopt the other role as Co-Chair. Christina and Petra will continue their respective positions as Treasurer and Secretary. Petra also volunteers to assist in the domain of Operations (stocking the supply cupboard). - Diane, Derek, Christina, Petra
- Fall meeting
- A pre-opening meeting has been suggested for August 30/06 or September 06/06. Details to follow. - Members
