Highlights of the Minutes from the Annual General Meeting

Thanks to Alina for the fantastic work on maintaining the website.
Discussions
- Review of the Calendar for the year
- Discussion that there is no one in position of Operations and
this has led to a lack of structure for new and existing members.
Plan for the coming year to reinstate a phone/email tree. This will
require a reply to ensure that all members are aware of ongoing
activities, fundraising, openings and social events.
- Flea Market
- Is planned for June 2nd. Their will be a sign up sheet for
assistance with the bake table, there is interest from the community
and members for tables to rent.
- Annual Picnic
- Is planned for the afternoon of June 24th, at Graves Island
Provincial Park to commence around 11am.
- Annual Citrus Sale
- Was a small success, and it will be continued, however it was
decided that the running of this event needs to be divided between a
minimum of two members. This is due to the time demands of this
event.
- Financial Overview
- Was presented by Christina, outgoing treasurer. This year SMBTL
had a total of 16 members at $50 per family. The drop in fee is at
present $2, and it was felt that it should be increased to $4. The
possibility of Government grants is to be investigated by Renae.
Past member MJ Laing was going to be asked about why SMBTL lost its
charitable status. Also we shall continue to collect Sobeys tapes
for submittance. This financial year the outgoing expenses exceeded
the income. However the surplus monies of SMBTL are approximately
$2500.
- Introductory Package for current and new members
- Requires some modification. It was felt that we need to take 5
minutes each date in September (during the open month) to due
introductions and go over the benefits and obligations of toy
library membership.
- Cleaning
- Dawn was to be contacted regarding her ability to continue to
clean the hall on an as needed basis.
- Inventory
- Is to be the evening following the last day of toy library, June
27th. We shall commence the cleaning with wine and cheese. We ask
that all toys be returned the week before.
- Next Meeting
- Shall be announced at the Inventory, which is normally one week
before the start of the new year in September.
- 20th Anniversary
- It was decided that a celebration for the 20th year of operation
should be held. Past alumni are to be invited. No date decided
upon at this time.
